Cops nab 11 for gambling on cards

Nagpur: UNIT IV of Crime Branch on Thursday raided Green Valley Dhaba near Wela Harichandra village on Wardha-Mansar Highway and caught 11 persons red-handed while gambling on cards. Cops seized Rs 31,500 cash, 10 cellphones, and five four-wheelers collectively worth Rs 26.77 lakh from them.

The accused have been identified as Shivram Devaji Bhure (54), a resident of Chichbhuvan, Khapri Naka, Sanjay Ramdasji Borkar (42), a resident of Shiv Heights, Prithviraj Nagar, Moreshwar Sambhaji Hazare (38), a resident Pachgaon, Kuhi, Shekhar Bhaiyyalal Kumbhare (38),a resident Laxmi Vihar, Somalwada, Prashant Chandrakant Shahane (36), a resident of Sita Nagar, Wardha Road, Madhukar Chintaman Kotrunge (44), Tushar Anil Pande (26), both residents of Manish Nagar, Bhuneshwar Bapu Kamble (36), a resident of Chikna, Minalsingh Jaisingh Thakur(28), a resident of Saikripa Society, Narendra Nagar, Manohar Baban Gavatre (51), a resident of Raghuji Nagar Quarter, and Sandeep Ashok Meshram (36), a resident of Pewtha, Hingna.

Cops registered a case under Sections 188, 270 of the Indian Penal Code, read with Section 4, 5 of Gambling Act, against them at Hingna Police Station.

The raid was conducted by Senior PI Ashok Meshram, API K V Chougule, API D M Chandan, PSI P M Mohekar, ASI Nagorao Ingle, ASI Ramesh Umathe, ASI Battulal Pande and others under the supervision of Addl CP (Crime) Nilesh Bharne, DCP (Detection) Gajanan Rajmane and ACP (Crime) Sudhir Nandanwar.
