Gadchiroli/Nagpur: A Naxalite was killed in the encounter between police and the left extremists that took place in Gadchiroli district on Wednesday morning. Cops of elite C-60 Squad were carrying out search operation in Narguda jungles of Etapalli Tehsil when they come under fire from Naxalites who were hiding in the dark woods. Police returned the fire in which one Naxal was killed but other extremists managed to flee. The encounter last for few minutes in which the C-60 jawans successfully eliminated one Naxal. Body of the gunned down outlaw has been recovered. A 12 bore rifle was found near the body.
