Cops foil theft plan; arrest three, two flee

Hudkeshwar police have arrested three thieves who were planning to sneak into a house early Mondaymorning. Two others managed to flee from the spot. The accused are Anil Rajesh Verma (28), a resident of Sanyog Nagar, behind Power Grid office, Jaripatka; Vishal Prahlad Meshram (23), a resident of Sanyog Nagar; Rohit Yuvraj Balpande (22), also a resident of Sanyog Nagar and two unknown persons.

Polices sources said  five people were planning to loot the commuters and burgle some houses in the area when the patrolling cops noticed them at the ground in front of Trimurty Bar, near bridge, Umrer Outer Ring Road.

The cops approached the thieves to inquire about their presence in the ground as late as 1.30 am. However, seeing the cops approaching, two of their accomplices managed to run away from the spot on their motorcycle while cops took hold of three youths. The cops recovered a sword, one Jambhiya, two knives, chilli powder, ropes, and a Pulsar bike (MH 31 DD 8781). Cops immediately took the thieves into custody and registered an offence under sections 399 and 402 of the IPC.
