Nagpur: In a swift action, police foiled two imminent dacoities in different localities by arresting eleven members of two gangs. Lethal arms and other material to be used in the dacoities were seized from the possession of arrested gang members.
Jaripatka police received a tip-off that five suspicious persons had assembled at a dark spot behind ITI building wall near Indora ground at odd hours of 3 am of Monday. Acting swiftly on the information, a team of policemen laid a trap at the spot and surrounded the suspicious persons. Even before the dubious persons could sense trouble the cops pounced on them and caught hold of them. Upon frisking of the would-be robbers, police recovered a gupti, one large knife, a spear, chili powder, and a rope to be used in a dacoity. The apprehended accused gang members have been identified as Sheikh Razzak Sheikh Rehman (23) of Gautam Nagar, Hemant Kariya Papareddy (39) of Motibagh, Harjitsingh Ajabsingh Garewal (25) of Hudco Colony, Vishal Ramchandra Manekar of Hudco Colony and Shailesh Indurkar of Indora Barakholi.
Jaripatka PSI S V Khaje has booked the accused under Sections 399, 402 of IPC read with Sub-Section 135 of Mumbai Police Act and placed them under arrest.
In the second incident, a squad of Pachpaoli Police Station was on patrol duty around 11 pm on Sunday. The patrolling squad spotted six persons had gathered at Shanichara Bazaar, Kamal Square and their activities were of suspicious nature. The patrolling cops surrounded the six members of the gang and confronted them with questions over assembling at odd hours. The persons could not give satisfactory replies forcing the cops to frisk them. The frisking led to recovery of lethal weapons and other material that were likely to be used in a dacoity the persons were planning to commit at a place. The arms and other material were seized and the six members of the gang were detained. Sustained questioning revealed their dacoity plan. The members have been identified as Rishikesh Vijay Gajbhiye (20) of Vaishali Nagar, Shekh Amjad Sheikh Shabbir (20) of Tajnagar Teka, Krunal Kundan Dongre (19) of Indora, Ankit Manoj Ambade (19) of Sanjay Gandhi Nagar, Sheikh Saddam Sheikh Chand (19) of Shaitan Chowk and Monti of Lashkaribagh.
Pachpaoli PSI L B Bora has registered a case against the six accused under Sections 399, 402 of IPC read with Sub-Section 4+25 of Arms Act and put them behind the bars.
