Nagpur News: The Social Security Branch (SSB) of Nagpur Police Crime Branch busted a sex racket being run in the posh Friends Colony on Monday (March 3).
According police, the SSB received a tip off that a sex racket is being run in Friends Colony and the girls hailing from West Bengal were forced in the prostitution. After confirming the reports of sex racket, the SSB informed the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Crime about the flesh trade. The DCP directed the SSB to raid the spot in the Friends Colony.
A team of SSB, led by Police Inspector Kamal Jadhav, and comprising PSI Moreshwar Barapatre, Constables Pandurang Nikure, Prakash Sidam, Sukhdeo Madavi, Raju Dange, Ajay Ghatole, Lady Constables Poonam Sevatkar, Manda Khandade, Photographer Varhadpande, Driver/Constable Ashok Thakur along with woman social workers raided the house in Friends Colony.
The SSB team rescued a girl hailing from West Bengal and arrested the sex racketeers Rakesh Narendra Khanna (40), resident of 47, Friends Colony, Sandeep Sadashiv Sahare (30), resident of New Shukrawari, Ramaji Wadi, and a woman accused Asha Kishore Salve (27), resident of Gittikhadan. The 3 accused have been arrested under Sections 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 of Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act 1956 and an offence has been registered at Gittikhadan Police Station in this connection.
