In separate road mishaps, a police constable and a 29-year-old youth were killed in city. Police constable Kashinath Kature, a resident of New Diamond Nagar, Kharabi road, succumbed to his injuries on Friday afternoon.
Kature,48,was posted in crime branch.He was injured in the road mishap taken place on November 4 at Tekli Line in Sitabuldi police station area. Police told that Kature was heading home from duty when a two-wheeler driven by a senior citizen Shrikrishna Chandak hit his bike causing head injuries to Kature. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Friday. Sitabildi police has registered the case against Chandak, a resident of Tekli line.
Other incident took place on Friday afternoon on Katol Road near police ground. Maan Singh Nigi, 29, a resident of Gawlipura, was heading ob his bike when he dashed with a stationary car owned by KT Nagar resident Vivek Singh Rajendra Singh. Singh had parked his car in the middle of the road that resulted into mishap. Nigi succumbed to his head injuries at Mayo hospital. Gittikhadan police has arrested Singh.
