Cop, scrap dealer booked for cheating trader with Rs 1 lakh

Nagpur: Tehsil cops have booked a Police Constable and a kabadiwala (scrap dealer) on the charges of cheating a trader dealing in utensils to the tune of Rs 1 lakh. The trader Dhanraj Jayaprasad Gupta (53), resident of Golibar Chowk, Tehsil area, runs his shop named Vyenkatesh Bartan Bhandar. The two accused Police Constable Shailesh Vairagade of Kotwali Police Station and Salim Bhai Kabadiwala of Nawabpura, Kotwali, negotiated a deal to sell a stock of scrap to Dhanraj. The accused took Rs 1 lakh from Dhanraj. However, the deal ran into rough weather and therefore Dhanraj asked the accused duo to take back the scrap and return his Rs 1 lakh. But the two accused played truant and thus cheated the trader Dhanraj Gupta.

Tehsil PSI T M Dhakulkar has registered a case under Sections 420, 34 of IPC against the accused Police Constable and probing the matter further.
