Nagpur: Ambazari police have booked and searching for a conman, hailing from Punjab, for cheating three city-based job seekers to the tune of Rs 11.75 lakh.

A resident of Jagnath Budhwari, near Kailash Talkies, Shubham Ramchandra Thawre (26), in his complaint to Ambazari police said that he met the accused, Navnit Mehta (45), staying at Bhatinda, Punjab, and who posed himself as AGED Major, at Flat No. 102, Swami Sanket Apartment, Puranik Layout, Bharat Nagar in July 2012. The accused told Shubham and his two friends namely Srinidhi Dutelwar and Sankalesh Raut that he would facilitate them four-year course of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and also provide license and a suitable job.

With this sly talk, the accused gave Shubham and his two friends admission in his Delta Aviation Class. In return the accused took Rs 4.25 lakh from Shubham and Rs 3.75 lakh each from Srinidhi and Sankalesh. The accused Navnit Mehta collectively took Rs 11.75 lakh from the three job seekers. However, the accused neither filled up the forms for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering exams nor provided training to Shubham and his two friends. The accused did not provide any job to the three youths and thus cheated them.

Ambazari PSI S R Thakre, based on complaint of Shubham Thawre, booked the accused Navnit Mehta under Sections 420, 406 of the IPC and searching for him.
