Congress to pass resolutions on farm loan waiver, guaranteed price in ‘Gramsabhas’ on May 1

Senior Congress leader and Opposition Leader in State Assembly Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil on Saturday said that the party will be passing resolutions on loan waiver to farmers and guaranteed price to farm products in thousands of ‘Gramsabhas’ (village meetings) on the occasion of coming Maharashtra Day on Monday May 1.

Vikhe-Patil announced the programme in the second stage of Sangharsh Yatra held in Nashik. “The Saat-Bara should be clean after loan waiver. The government should assure guaranteed price for farm products so that farmers get 50 percent profits. Resolutions of these demands would be passed in thousands of village meetings on May 1. All the Gram Panchayats have been contacted through e-mails, posts, phones and SMSes for the purpose,” the Congress leader said.

“The struggle for loan waiver and guaranteed price has reached the decisive stage. To get the justice done to ‘Baliraja’ (farmer), the resolutions will be passed in maximum ‘Gramsabhas’ and a message would be sent to the government,” Vikhe-Patil said.
