Nagpur.

The Congress-sponsored morcha, which was to be staged at Vidhan Bhavan on December 7, with the commencement of Winter Session of Maharashtra State Legislature, will now be staged on December 8.

This change has been made by MPCC President Ashok Chavan, keeping in view that not much work is done in Vidhan Sabha on the opening day, and even the government does not come into action for the business on its first day.

While the Congress-proposed morcha preparations are underway, and  about one lakh supporters are likely to participate in the morcha, MPCC President Ashok Chavan and Leader of Opposition in the Legislature, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil will reach Nagpur either on Nov 28 or 29, to work out plan for morcha. The Vidarbha MLA and leaders will also remain present to work out the plan.

The issues for morcha include suicide by farmers, proper support price not being given to farm produce, situation of drought and dearness among others. The Congress-morcha will also exhibit its strength among masses, informed City Congress spokesperson, Sanjay Dubey.
