Commercial Sex Workers celebrated Rang Panchami

Nagpur Today: The Indian Red Cross Society, Nagpur Branch, celebrated Rang Panchami (fifth day of holi) with the sex workers from the red light area of Nagpur usually known as Ganga Jamuna. The Commercial Sex Workers celebrated the festival of colors with lots of enthusiasm. The premise of Indian Red Cross Society was filled with joy and colors of humanity. The Commercial Sex Workers besmeared colors on each other and enjoyed the festival of color to the fullest. The members of Red Cross Society organized this holi celebration program for the Commercial Sex Workers to make them feel that they are also the part of society and have right to enjoy life.

Social Worker Hemlata Lohwe who is project manager of HIV Aids precaution program under Red Cross Society told Nagpur Today that, the motive behind organizing this Rang Panchami mahotsav is to give the message to the society that these Commercial Sex Workers are also human being. She further added that we are living in this world with the different colors of life and these Commercial Sex Workers also have the right enjoy the colors of life.

The programme was organized by Dr. R. P. Singh, Hemlata Lohave of Indian Red Cross Society, Nagpur, Pawan aate, wadmashree wantalwaar, Anil Taktewale, Manish Umtawkar, Mangala Kadwe, Pranali Labhe, Rashmi Dhote, Satish Nikose, Selin Meenaardiwe, Preeti Saakore, Satish Godbole, Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Kavita Rangaari, Rupali Bhoyar also participated along with the Commercial Sex Workers in the celebration.
