Commanders’ Conclave to be held at Headquarters Maintenance Command in Nagpur

Maintenance Command Commanders’ Conclave 2016 will be held at Headquarters Maintenance Command Indian Air Force, Vayusena Nagar, Nagpur on 22 April 2016. The Conclave will be attended by Commanders of Base Repair Depots, Equipment Depots, Movement Control Units and Air Force Liaison Establishments. Air Marshal Pankaj Aneja Vishisht Seva Medal, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Maintenance Command will address all Commanders on 22 April 2016, and review the progress of various projects, Plans and the Production tasks assigned to various Depots.

Maintenance Command has a geographical spread across the country with Units engaged in overhaul, repair, product support and supply chain management of the assets. The IAF today holds plethora of weapon platforms and delivery systems. The techno-logistic challenge of keeping the IAF’s flying machines and systems battle ready is indeed an onerous task. Maintenance Command plays an important role by providing the requisite Engineering and Logistic support to the Operational and Training Units. The Command has acquainted itself well in indigenisation of spares, moderation of production facilities, warehousing and the supply chain management.

Air Marshal Pankaj Aneja took over the Command of Maintenance Command recently. The Conclave provides an opportunity for the Air Marshal to share his vision for the Maintenance Command with the Field Commanders. The conclave also gives an opportunity to the Field Commanders to share their views with the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief and evolve way-forward to achieve defined objectives and KRAs for their Station and Unit in pursuance and consonance with the mandate defined for this important Command by the Indian Air Force.
