Nagpur News : It is time to introspect ourselves and devise new ways to provide effective & efficient service to our clients said Chairman WIRC CA. Anil Bhandari in his address in recently organized Seminar on Survey Search & Seizure under Income Tax Act at Hotel Radisson Blu by Nagpur Branch of ICAI. He further said that corporate sector across world is looking to professionals for value added services. He asked members to look for providing new services as scope of traditional services and laws & regulations are changing rapidly. He informed that WIRC has started advanced management training programme to help members to come out of conservative mode & face the challenges before the profession in a better way. He requested members to use technology to maximum possible as future belongs to technology.

Vice Chairman of WIRC, CA. Julfesh Shah informed that WIRC has set up study and research group for studying provisions of Co-operative Act. He informed that WIRC is also working on the Reference Material on Co-operative Societies and Banks which would be useful for Co-operative Societies and Banks as well as Auditors. He further informed that WIRC Office Bearers including himself is visiting the members of trade and industry all over Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat to understand issues and to represent them to the Government at appropriate level. He also said that WIRC has formed a study group to address & suggest issues in subsidy mechanism operated by the State Governments to help the industry to effectively avail it. He appreciated Nagpur Branch Chairman CA. Ashwini Agrawal and his team for taking tireless efforts for organizing various programmes for the benefit of members.

Chairman of Nagpur Branch CA. Ashwini Agrawal in his welcome address said that Nagpur Branch is organizing number of programmes for members and students with the theme Profess to Prosper for the year 2014-15. He said that search u/s 132 and survey u/s 133A of the Income Tax Act, 1961 are important tools of the Income Tax Department for detecting and preventing tax evasion. These important provisions of the Income Tax Act are also ridden with controversies and hence should be excercised with caution and precaution. He further said that for the first time this unique seminar is organsied wherein audio video mock presentation of Income tax search is screened to bring out the practical issues as well the common mistake committed by professional and assessee during the survey and search. He informed about various new initiatives taken by the branch.

In the first technical Session CA. Bhupendra Shah, eminent faculty from Mumbai presented an Audio Visual Mock Search under Direct Taxes and then FAQ on Search. In the second technical session CA. Kailash Jogani from Nagpur and CA. Bhupendra Shah presented paper on Practical Aspects of Survey U/s 133 A of Income Tax Act. Both the speakers resolved various queries of the participants in most effective manner.
