Nagpur.

A glittering ceremony marked the celebration of International Women’s Day in the city on Sunday. Kanchan Gadkari, Working President of Sanskar Bharti and Chairperson of Seva Sadan was the chief guest of the programme that was held at NMC’s Raje Raghuji Bhonsale Nagar Bhavan (Town Hall) in Mahal.

Delivering her speech, Kanchan Gadkari said, “The nation is basking under the glory of outstanding works and heritage of Rajmata Jijau, Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi, Ahilyabai Holkar and Savitribai Phule. But the recent happenings in the country raise the question in one’s mind: Why should such happenings occur? If a woman in family receives good education the family becomes a well cultured one. Therefore, every woman should become self-reliant and every woman should fight against atrocities. Even she should take the form of Durga Mata. If a woman is given moral support then she can live happily in her home and also make other members happy notwithstanding whether she is rich or poor or belonging to any religion. On this occasion of International Women’s Day every woman should vow and ensure that other women become self-reliant,” said Kanchan Gadkari.
