Collector appeals people to enroll in electoral rolls before forthcoming Assembly elections

The District Collector Abhishek Krishna has appealed the people to take advantage of ongoing enrolment drive and enroll themselves in electoral rolls before the Assembly elections. He has also urged the people to ensure their names appear in the electoral rolls. If the voters find their manes missing in the lists they should fill up the requisite forms. People can register themselves as voters till 10 days before the last date of filing of nominations for the Assembly elections. The voters having any queries can call the toll-free number 1800221950 or visit the website ceo.maharashtra.gov.in or Nagpur.nic.in, appealed the Collector in a press release issued by District Administration.

Meanwhile, the number of voters in Nagpur District has increased by 82,260 since Lok Sabha elections. A special revision of photo electoral rolls was conducted between June 9 and 30. Since then the voter enrollment drive is in progress. At the beginning of the month of August 2014, the number of voters in 12 Assembly constituencies of Nagpur District increased to 36,57,015. As per the official figures on April 2 this year, the total number of voters in all 12 Assembly segments in the district was 35,74,755.
