Nagpur News: In a bizarre incident, a cleaner crushed a driver to death under the wheels of his own truck on Thursday night.
According to police, the ill-fated truck driver has been identified as S K Kakesa (45), a native of Andhra Pradesh. The incident occurred in Nildoh area of MIDC at about 10.30 pm on Thursday (July 17). Kakesa had brought some goods to MPM Company. After parking his truck (AP-27/TT 9995) in front of the company, the driver went for a sleep under the truck.
At the same time, the cleaner Palli Shetty Nageshwarrao Chhanchhaiya (65), in criminal negligence, started the truck and subsequently, crushed the driver who was sleeping under it. The truck driver Kakesa died on the spot. The MIDC API Shirurkar and his reached the spot immediately after receiving the information about the incident.
The police, on the basis of a complaint lodged by security guard of MPM Company Satish Kapse (36), resident of Hingna, booked the cleaner Palli Shetty under Sections 279, 304(A) of the IPC and arrested him. Further probe is underway.
