City police celebrate World Yoga Day

Nagpur: Hundreds of police officials and personnel along with Commissioner of Police Dr K Venkatesham celebrated the Third International Yoga Day at sprawling campus ground in Police Line Takli. The event was organised jointly by Nagpur Police Commissionerate and Art of Living.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Venkatesham said, “I myself doing Yoga and Pranayam since years. Yoga is a master key to good and healthy life. Every policeman as well as citizen must do Yoga. For taking care of a good health, Yogasanas and Pranayam should be considered as the first steps,” the top cop said.

The enthusiastic police personnel and their families started thronging the sprawling campus ground in Police Line Takli at early morning and participated in the World Yoga Day celebration.


The office-bearers of Art of Living were presented with souvenirs at the hands of Commissioner of Police. Other senior officials who participated in the Yoga Day celebration include Joint Commissioner of Police Shivaji Bodkhe, Additional Commissioner Shyamrao Dighavkar, DCPs Nilesh Bharne, Sambhaji Kadam, Smartna Patil, S Chaitanya Krushnakumar Upadhyay, Shweta Khedkar, Suhas Bawche, Rakesh Ola, Rahul Maknikar, Ravindrasingh Pardeshi, all Assistant Commissioners of Police, Police Inspectors and police personnel in large numbers.
