Nagpur: Another major government-job scam has surfaced in the city. Pratapnagar Police have registered a case against three individuals for allegedly cheating two citizens of ₹20.50 lakh by promising appointments in Central Government institutions. The accused have been identified as Manoj Gyandev Bagade (Adhyapak Layout, Trimurti Nagar), Sharmaji alias Mohsin Khan, and Hafeez Bhure Khan Pathan, a resident of Amravati.
The main complainant, Rahil Yadawrao Ghaywar (50) of Mankapur, stated that he approached Bagade to secure a job for his wife. Using their old acquaintance, Bagade convinced Ghaywar that he could arrange postings in Kendriya Vidyalaya and other Central Government departments. He then introduced Ghaywar to his associates Mohsin Khan and Hafeez Khan.

In May 2025, the trio allegedly collected ₹15,50,000 from Ghaywar by promising a librarian’s post at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Kamptee.
Another Youth Cheated of ₹5 Lakh
In a separate case, the same group allegedly cheated Amit Bansod (21), Ganesh Nagar, of ₹5 lakh by offering him a peon’s job at Kendriya Vidyalaya Ambazari. Both victims were handed forged appointment letters, leading them to believe the jobs were confirmed.
Fraud Exposed After Verification
When the complainants attempted to verify the authenticity of the appointment letters, they discovered the documents were fake. Once confronted, the accused avoided returning the money and began making excuses.
Police Register Fraud Case
After reviewing the written complaints, Pratapnagar Police registered a case under serious charges of cheating and forgery. According to officials, the accused appear to be running an organised racket targeting job-seekers, and more victims may come forward.
Police have urged citizens not to pay money for any government job under any circumstances and to immediately report such demands to the nearest police station so that these networks can be dismantled.
