City goes patriotic with singing of Vandemataram by thousands of kids

The atmosphere of Second Capital City of Nagpur went patriotic and reverberated with singing of Vandemataram by thousands of children in chorus to mark Akhand Bharat Sankalp Divas programme on Saturday. The programme, organized by Matrubhoomi Pratishthan, was graced by Union Surface Transport and Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari and Chairman of Anti-Terrorist Front Manindersingh Bitta.

Matrubhoomi Pratishthan is organizing the patriotic programme since the past five years with the aim of infusing the passion of freedom and patriotism among Indians, especially the youth.

Speaking on the occasion, Gadkari said, “We have to create a cheerful, prosperous and powerful nation to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of future generations through patriotic fervor. Thousands and thousands of people sacrificed their lives for freedom of the country. Maharashtra is a land of saints, social reformers, revolutionaries, patriots. Maharashtra has always been in the forefront of nation’s safety and security. The programmes such as Akhand Bharat Sankalp Divas inspire and motivate people in their duty towards the nation,” Gadkari stated.

Manindersingh Bitta said that terrorism is the biggest threat to the nation’s security. Every Indian will have to stand and fight against this scourge then only we can cherish the peace, prosperity and freedom in true sense of the words, he stressed.
