Nagpur News : Sonegaon police has tightened the bandobast at Chichbhavan on Wardha road after an eighth standard student, Sonu alias Vijay Kale was knocked dead by an over speeding four-wheeler (Scorpio) on Sunday evening.

Vijay was crossing the road to reach home at Chichbhavan when a rashly driven scorpio hit him and dragged him to nearly 20 feet on the road, causing his death. The horrifying mishap had angered eye-witnesses and nearby residents, who then pelted stones, burnt tyres and blocked the traffic.

Police has arrested the accused driver Anishek Butani, 20, who is an engineering student. Butani, who hails from Delhi, is a second year and is currently staying in Sewagram.

However, on Monday residents tried to block the traffic again. It was learnt that residents had threatened not to take the body for last rituals till police met their demands of assuring speed breakers or an over-bridge on the road.

Sonegaon cops, however, denied of any tension took place on the accident.
