Chhat puja paints Ambazari lake in festive fervor

Nagpur: Thousands of devotees gathered at Ambazari lake to perform Chhat puja on Tuesday. People sought blessing from Sun god on this auspicious occasion. They took bath in lake and offer prayers to Sun.
Chhat puja is one of the main festivals of people of Bihar and other north Indian states. Every year people celebrate this festival with enthusiasm. Women performed puja on Tuesday evening offering prayers to Sun on Wednesday morning as well. The auspicious time (Muhurat) to perform puja was at 5.32 pm. People started gathering at the lake from 4 pm onwards. The lake surrounding turned into a fair as fruit sellers, flower sellers, toy shops and food stalls were set on the Ambazari road. The puja went on till late in the evening keeping the area busy.

Mayor extends wishes
Bahurashtriya chhat vrat sanstha and Nagpur municipal corporation had mutually coordinated the organisation of the chhat puja programme. Mayor Pravin Datke and NMC standing committee chairman Ramesh Singare were present as the chief guests for the programme. Devendra Kumar Singh and Arun Kumar Zha welcomed the guests.

While extending his wished, Datke praised the well planned organisation of the programme and appreciated the organising committees effort of cleaning the area on their own. Manoj Salphekar compered the program while Naval Kishore Prasad, Gopal Kumar Paswan, Arvind Kumar Jha and others worked hard for the success of the programme. Bahurashtriya chhat vrat sanstha made various arrangements for celebration of Chhat puja.

Chhat Puja at Pardi
Chhat Puja is performed at Pardi in presence of East Nagpur president of Uttar Bhartiya Sabha M M Sharma. Devotees sought blessings of Sun god. Shrivas Nemichand Sanodiya, Ramkisan Rathore, Vishnu Banpela, Guddu Yadav, Deepak Singh, Vipin gupta, Vinod Dixit, Vijay Gupta, Saroj Singh, Mandal Mehta, Pralhad Ram worked hard for the success of this programme.
