Cheat dupes one using credit-details obtained fraudulently

cheating_logoNagpur: As a warning to all credit card users, an age old instruction of “Never give details of Credit Card to unknown tele-callers” comes to fore. One may never know how tricksters use this information to siphon off valuable-hard-earned money from the account.

In a similar incident which occurred in Jaripatka area, the accused identified as Narayan Singh Hora had allegedly called the victim Nishant Jagdish Gawli aged 35 years and a resident of Quarter No B-15/121, LIG-1 Quarters, HUDCO Colony, Nara claiming himself to be from HDFC Bank and asked the victim for the details of his HDFC Credit Card. After acquiring the details of the HDFC Credit Card from the unsuspecting victim, the accused Narayan Singh went on to pay his own mobile bill of Rs 4925/- (Rs Four Thousand Nine Hundred and Twenty Five).

After realizing that Rs 4925/- has been debited from his account, the victim lodged a complaint with the Jaripatka Police Station.

Police Sub Inspector Wagh of Jaripatka Police Station registered a case against the accused under section 379 of Indian Penal Code and under Section 66 and 66 (C) of Information Technology Act.
