Chairman of S P Public School, other man booked for Rs 2.21 cr fraud in land deal

Nagpur: Wathoda police have booked the Chairman of S P Public School and another person on the charges of duping many people to the tune of Rs 2.21 crore in a dubious land deal.

The accused Chairman, Sanjay Shriram Pendharkar (52), resident of Plot No. 559, Hiwari Layout, built the school named S P Public School on a portion of his land at Bahadura, Hiwri Layout in 2009-10. On the rest of the land, the accused carved out plots. The accused Pendhatrkar sold the plots to the complainant, Gajanan Dnyaneshwar Nishankar (64), resident of Plot No. 71, near NIT Garden, Uday Nagar and 17 others between February 14, 2017 till to date. Pendharkar took Rs 2.21 crore from them and prepared sale deeds/power of attorney/possession papers in their names.

Even after taking the money from the complainant Nishankar and 17 others, the accused Chairman of SP Public School prepared another power of attorney in the name of second accused Kamalesh Harichand Nagpal (50), resident of Plot No. 730/7/8, Deshpande Layout, Wardhaman Nagar, Dadumal Nagpal and Reema Nagpal. The second accused Kamalesh Nagpal, despite knowing that the plots have been sold to the complainant Nishankar and 17 other people, sold the plots to other different people. With this fraud, the accused Chairman of S P Public School Pendharkar and Kamalesh Nagpal betrayed Nishankar and others and cheated them to the tune of Rs 2.21 crore.

Wathoda ASI Dinkar has booked the accused under Sections 420, 467, 406, 471, 120(B) of the IPC and is investigating the matter further.
