Centre for Sustainable Development, NMC celebrate Women’s Day

Nagpur: The Centre for Sustainable Development and Nagpur Municipal Corporation jointly celebrated International Women’s Day at Babulkheda. The highlight of the celebration was that the Swachh Association’s Anu Chhabrani provided an apt guidance to the womenfolk of the area on how to produce compost from wet garbage. She also had a guiding word for the women on how to separate wet and dry garbage to maintain cleanliness.

A large number of women, Anganwadi sevikas and members of Asha Workers took part in the event. Arti Sukhdeve of Centre for Sustainable Development conducted the programme while Rakhi Jadhav proposed a vote of thanks.

At Kumbhartoli:

Similarly, both the agencies celebrated the International Women’s Day at an Anganwadi in Kumbhartoli. Police Sub-Inspector of Bharosa Cell delivered a speech on atrocities on women. She also highlighted various legal provisions available for women to deal with domestic violence and other violent acts.

Vandana Shende of Centre for Sustainable Development conducted the programme while Shubhangi Padole proposed a vote of thanks. The programme was attended by Anganwadi sevikas, members of Asha Workers and students of BP National College.
