CBSE makes changes in NET exam, candidates to appear only for two papers

Nagpur: There is a good news for the candidates appearing for the (National Eligibility Test (NET). All over the country for the post of Assistant Professors NET is compulsory and now for this candidates will have to appear for just two papers in July 2018 instead of three. Similarly the age for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) the age has been increased. Early only up to to age of 28 the candidate could appear for JRF while this year the age limit has been increased to 30 years.

This decision has given relief to lakhs of students. CBSE has issued a notification regarding the change. According to the Director UGC NET the NET exams will be held on 8 July all over the country at various centres. The exam will be held for two papers. Paper 1 is a general aptitude test to assess the candidate’s teaching and research aptitude. The one-hour paper, from 9.30 am to 10.30 am, will be of 100 marks, with 50 questions of two marks each.

Paper II will test candidates on the subject they have chosen. It will be of 200 marks and carry 100 objective type compulsory questions each of two marks. The duration of this paper will be two hours, from 11 am to 1 pm. In the present NET exam there will be 150 questions of 300 marks. From 6 March 2018 candidates can apply online for UGC NET from March 6. Last date to apply online is April 5 and Fee can be paid up to April 6.
