The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has effected changes in the dates of Class 12th examination in view of 9-phased Lok Sabha elections. The changes in dates, however, have not gone well with the students and their parents with their plans of vacation going haywire. They too will have to change their plans accordingly.

Now, the Class 12th exams will conclude on April 22. The dates for examinations earlier scheduled to be held between April 9 and 17 have been changed. The dates of Urdu Paper (April 9), Sociology and Graphic Design (April 10), Philosophy (April 12) and Painting (April 17) including other papers like Sculpture, Graphic, Music, Entrepreneurship have been changed. The papers scheduled on April 9 will now be held on April 25, papers of April 10 will be held on April 21, papers of April 12 will be held on April 19 and papers of April 17 will be conducted on April 22.

The dates of Class 12th exam papers and the 9-phased Lok Sabha elections beginning from April 7 were clashing with each other and thus forcing CBSE to effect changes in dates of its examinations. The details of changes in dates have been made available in the CBSE website www.cbse.nic.in. Information about any further changes would be conveyed to students, said CBSE.

However, the changes, though anticipated by students and their parents in view of Lok Sabha elections, have forced to change their different plans, too. Many were supposed to attend marriages of relatives outstation but would miss them. Moreover, the railway reservation, booked months ago, will have to be cancelled and the fresh booking will not guarantee confirmation. Anyway, the students, it appears, have made up their minds for the changes and are focusing of their studies, said some students.
