CBI arrests railway technician, woman in connection with recruitment fraud at Nagpur

Nagpur News : The anti-corruption wing of CBI has arrested a chief technician at Nagpur railway Vijay along with a woman Archana Mehta in connection with the recently exposed railway recruitment scam.

According to CBI, the case of fraud and criminal conspiracy has been registered against Vijay, a technician posted in central railway at Nagpur, director of Ganesh HRD agency Birendra Singh, Archana Mehta of Manish Nagar and some unidentified railway officials.

Of the accused, Vijay and Archana have been arrested on the complaint from a person that they duped him of Rs 29 lakh on the promise of a job in central railway.

CBI sources informed that job aspirants were even subjected to medical examinations and later fake appointment letters were issued to them.

When the complainants inquired about the vacancies from Central Railway, they were informed that no such advertisement was published in this regard.

Following this, the fraud victims turned to CBI and complained the matter. The officials raided the premises of the accused and recovered copies of fake recruitment and appointment letters, list of their ‘target candidates’ and various letter heads of various sections of railways.
