Cash, valuables worth Rs 1.72 lakh stolen in separate incidents

Nagpur News : Unidentified thieves looted cash, gold ornaments and valuables worth Rs 1.72 lakh in two separate cases on late Monday night.

In the first incident, two indentified thieves burgled cash of Rs 95,000 after breaking open the lock from the house of one Sunderlal Shankarlal Rathi (60). Sunderlal, a resident of Plot No. 303, Saraswati Apartment, Khare Town, Dharampeth went to pick up his wife Jyotikala Rathi from Mahal. When they came back, he discovered the open door. He rushed inside to find cash of Rs 95,000 missing from his locker.

On the complaint of Sunderlal, Sitabuldi police registered a case under IPC Sec 457 and 380. Further investigations are underway.

In another incident, some unidentified thieves stole gold ornaments and valuables worth Rs 77,000 after breaking open the door of Pradeep Ramaji Mokharkar. According to police, Pradeep, a resident of amba Apartment, Flat No. 102, Renuka Mata Nagar, Hudkeshwar Road, was away for work and his wife Jaya Mokharkar went to pick up their daughter Diksha from C G Wanjari School. When Jaya came back, she notice the open door. She informed her husband. Police said that thieves looted gold ornaments worth Rs 70,000 and cash of Rs 7,000 from the almirah.

On the complaint of Jaya Mokharkar, Hudkeshwar police have registered a case under IPC Sec 454 and 380. Further investigations are underway.
