Cash, gold-diamond ornaments worth Rs 6 lakh stolen from flat in Hudkeshwar

Nagpur: Unidentified burglars struck at an apartment in a big way by relieving the owner of gold-silver, diamond jewelleries and cash collectively valued at Rs 6 lakh. The daylight house-breaking was reported from Hudkeshwar area on Friday.

The complainant, Sunita Laxman Rautkar (50), resident of Flat No. 1, 2, S K Apartment, Near Bhagyalaxmi Sabhagruha, Janki Nagar, locked her flat at about 10.30 am and went to a hospital. The burglars, waiting for an opportune time, broke open the lock and entered Sunita’s flat between 10.30 am and 1.30 pm. The miscreants professionally selected two almirahs and decamped with cash of Rs 80,000 and gold-silver, diamond jewelleries.

The collective worth of the booty stolen stood at Rs 6.1 lakh. The theft came to light when Sunita returned home and found the lock broken and valuables stolen. She immediately rushed to Hudkeshwar Police Station and filed a complaint. A team of cops visited the spot with finger print experts to investigate the case.

PSI Lakde has booked the unidentified burglars under Sections 454, 380 of IPC and searching for them.
