Burglars relieve two brothers of booty worth Rs 2.49 lakh in Lakadganj

Nagpur: Two brothers living in a house were relieved of cash and gold ornaments collectively valued at Rs 2.49 lakh. The house-breaking took place in Lakadganj area on Tuesday afternoon.

The complainant, Ashish Ashokrao Lambat (30), residing behind Telephone Exchange, near Hindusthan Vidyalaya, told police that he and his brother went to duty in the morning. His parents too went to Koradi Mandir for having darshan Goddess Jagdamba. When the two brothers returned home in the evening and went to their bedrooms on the first floor they were shocked to find locks of both the rooms broken by burglars.

The thieves laid their hands on cash of Rs 15,000 and gold ornaments (worth Rs 90,000) kept in a steel almirah in Ashish’s bedroom and also cash of Rs 50,000 and jewellery of Rs 94,000. Collectively, the desperadoes relieved the two brothers of booty worth Rs 2.49 lakh.

Lakadganj PSI U N Rathod, acting on a complaint by Ashish Lambat, booked the burglars under Sections 454, 457, 380 of IPC and searching for them.
