Stressed over non payment of Bank installments, a young auto-rickshaw driver committed suicide on Wednesday. His body was found floating at Gandhi Sagar lake early Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Sanjay Chhedilal Karikan (28), who lives with his wife Reena and daughter Mahi, is a resident of Dixit Nagar, Mhada Colony, Nari Road.
Sources said three months instalments of his auto-rickshaw were due on Sanjay for which he was under immense stress. The stress took a toll over him and he decided to quit his life. On Wednesday, he left for Railway Station but did not return home at night. His wife panicked and called Sanjay’s elder brother Harilal Karikan. Harilal reached Jaripatka police station and asked for help. The cops asked him to do a thorough search for him and then file a report.
Meanwhile, Sanjay’s wife received a phone call from Ganeshpeth police informing them about a body being located in Gandhi Sagar lake early Thursday morning. Sanjay body was fished out by Jagdish Khare after which Reena identified Sanjay’s body. The body was sent to Government Hospital for autopsy. Cops have registered a case of accidental death in this regard and started their investigations.
