Nagpur: Gittikhadan police have booked a building contractor on the charges of causing death of a labourer by negligence. The deceased labourer Vijay Shivcharan Jagne (35) of was working on construction of a house belonging to Sayyed Kalandar Sayyed Yaqub in Rathod Layout in Gittikhadan area on April 5, 2016. During working on the second floor of the house, Vijay lost balance and fell on the ground with a thud. He was taken to Prime Nursing Home nearby but was declared brought dead by doctors there. At that time, cops hade registered a case of accidental death and probing the matter further.
The probe revealed that the accused building contractor Kamaruddin Usman Ansari(44) of Anant Nagar had not provided any safety tools to Vijay and other labourers despite knowing the risk involved in the construction work. This act of the contractor amounted to negligence that led to death of Vijay Jagne.
Now, Gittikhadan police, acting on a complaint of Lalita Vijay Jagne (32), have booked the accused building contractor under Section 304(A) of IPC and investigating the matter further.
