Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has on Friday announced 21 more candidates in Vidarbha taking the total number of candidates to 34 so far for the October 15 Assembly election. The remaining candidates are likely to be announced in a day or two, said the National General Secretary of the party Veer Singh. Vidarbha has total 62 seats.

The 21 candidates announced by BSP for Vidarbha include four candidates for four more seats of Nagpur city. The party has already announced two candidates for constituencies in the city. Accordingly, Engineer Rajendra Padole will contest South-West Nagpur seat while Onkar Anjikar will be in the fray from Central Nagpur seat. Similarly, Ahmed Kadar will try his luck from West Nagpur segment and Dilip Rangari is going to contest from East Nagpur constituency.

BSP has already announced candidature of Kishore Gajbhiye for North Nagpur seat and Corporator Satyabhama Lokhande for South Nagpur seat. Now, the party has announced candidates for all the six seats of Nagpur city.

Other candidates announced by the party are for seats in Buldana, Akola, Nagpur, Chandrapur, Yavatmal, Washim, Gondia, Amravati and Gadchiroli districts.

“Names of all candidates have been decided and under process. They would be announced in a day or two. The party’s focus will be mainly on 10 Vidarbha seats that the party is certain to win this time. BSP will open its account in Vidarbha. Along with Vidarbha, the party has announced 14 candidates for Marathwada, Western Maharashtra and Konkan regions,” said Veer Singh and National General Secretary, In Charge Maharashtra, Dr Suresh Mane at a press conference.

The BSP Supremo Mayawati is likely to address 10 public meetings in Vidarbha including one at Kasturchand Park in Nagpur, said Veer Singh.
