Nagpur: AXIS, the annual technical festival of Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur will be inaugurated by one of its most celebrated alumni, Dr Dinesh Keskar on October 16.
The AXIS festival will be held from October 16-18 and shall host the Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific & India Sales, Boeing Commercial Airplanes, who once was a mechanical engineering student in the same college.
Dr Keshkar was born in Rajkot in the year in 1954, he completed his high school from Amravati and then received his bachelor’s degree and a gold medal in 1975 from VNIT, Nagpur then VRCE. He then completed his master and doctorate degrees in aerospace engineering from University of Cincinnati in 1976 and 1978 respectively, working under the supervision of Neil Armstrong.
He was a recipient of President’s Honour Roll in the year 1987. Ever since his entry in Boeing, Dr Keskar has always held major positions in the company. He was appointed as the president of Boeing India in 1995 and senior vice-president of Sales for South and Southeast Asia in 2004.
Dr Keskar was honoured with the ‘Distinguished Alumni Award’ by the University of Cincinnati for meritorious achievement in the imaginative blending of engineering education with highly productive endeavours in industry.
