Nagpur News: The Class XII (HSSC) examination conducted by Maharashtra State Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board for academic session 2013-2014 is beginning from Thursday(February 20) across the State. The examination will be held till March 29. A total of 1,64,522 students will appear for the HSSC examination in Nagpur Division at 444 centres. Out of 1,64,522 students, 1,42,493 students would be regular and 22,029 students will give the exam second time (Supplementary Examination).
The Science Stream comprises 63,695 students, Arts Stream – 82,493 students, Commerce Stream – 23,964 students, MCVC – 8336 students. The Board, after considering the massive number of students appearing for the crucial examination from different streams, has set up 444 exam centres. The centres for regular and supplementary students are separate. Gondia District has been declared sensitive and tight security has been in place.
The Secondary Education Officers have been given the responsibility to check copying during the examination. The Board has asked them to prepare an agenda on daily basis. Similarly, the Collector’s Vigilance Committee will be active to curb the copying. For those students, who for any reason would not be able to appear the exam during the scheduled period, the exam will be conducted for them onApril 1 and 2.
