Nagpur:The foodgrains which the food supplies department should send to ration shop is openly being sold in the Kalamna market. The traders have been directly getting ration foodgrains meant for the poor people and selling it. Neither the Food Supplies Department is bothered about this nor the APMC has any control over it. Kalamna police station is in the market area but still the entire administration is allegedly turning blind eye towards the whole episode. Openly the govt food supplies are sent through the trucks to the market. The foodgrains are openly filled in the private company bags and sent. Immediately foodgrains are transported to other states. The smuggling of foodgrains are going on depriving the poor.

The administration and others all are hand in glove and so smuggling is going on. It is necessary to send the government foodgrains to ration shops as per the rule. The administration has a security system to stop the blackmarketing of foodgrains but its a mere show. The blackmarketeers find many loopholes to escape from the security system. It is alleged that the foodgrains are first sent to the Lal godown on Kamptee Road and then from here to the godowns of the traders. The administration took steps and is sending the foodgrains in trucks with GPS system so that it is not robbed. The persons reaching the foodgrains has to make his entry through biometric system at rationing shops. According to reliable sources the system is perfectly followed but the grain mafia has a setting with Ration shop owners. The Ration shop owners keep the foodgrain as much they want and rest is given to the blackmarketeers. In the evening the foodgrains are again collected from the shops by the trucks. It is alleged that the master minds in this business are Dinesh Aakre, Narendra Meher and Bandu Benod.

These three pick-up the foodgrain bags from the ration shops take it to Kalamna grain market. Here the traders buy the grains as per there needs. Openly in the market the bags are emptied. Outside the market henchmen of

Aakre, Meher and Banod are active. They have a perfect setting with all department right from administration to police. The kingpin of all is Ajju Agrawal, trader, it is alleged. The foodgrains which are not sold are taken to Agrawal’s godown in Mouda’s Saoli. There are CCTV camera installed in Agrawal’s godown. The four servants here keep a watch on the people’s movement. All are alert as soon an outsider comes. Agrawal has main buisness of sugar.

It may be mentioned that the administration is just unable to take action. The rice is filled in private bags and sent to the mills to polish it so that the rates can be hiked. The ration rice is quite thick but it has a sale in South India. And so daily the trucks are sent to Hyderabad, Kerala, Karnatak and Tamil Nadu, it is alleged.
