Nagpur: The BJP-Shiv Sena government in the state of Maharashtra is completing its one year of rule on October 31, 2015. The BJP, based on previous political calculations, has not only succeeded in forming its government, but also making Devendra Fadnavis as BJP Chief Minister, which is a matter of pride for Nagpur and Vidarbha as well. Now, after completion of one year, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is seeking ‘feed back’ from citizens about his government’s functioning. Nagpur Today too joined the spree and obtained views of citizens on this count, which are as follows:

Sanjay Dubey, Congress spokesperson
Devendra Fadnavis’ tenure does not seem to be satisfactory, for his government has failed to fulfill the expectations of people who had voted the party for. The Chief Minister is from Nagpur, yet he is not paying the expected attention to Vidarbha, and the region is not progressing the way it ought to have done.

It was a good opportunity for him, but he has missed it in terms of development. He is under pressure, and he depends either on BJP high command Narendra Modi or RSS for taking any decision. In our times of Congress-NCP combine rule the Centre of power was one, but now it is two–Modi and RSS. The rest of mess is being created by Shiv Sena as per its whims.

Chandan Goswami, BJP spokesperson
One year’s BJP rule in the state is appreciable, and the state is on the path of progress under leadership of Devendra Fadnavis. The Goverment has made several schemes for common citizens and farmers, and Fadnavis is giving new dimension to the state which was gripped by corruption over past 15 years and all developmental works had got rusted and slowed down.

Crops insurance, Jalyukta Shivar Yojana and debts waivers are sure to change the conditions of farmers in the state. Not only this, Maharashtra, which was lagging behind in its development, is now geared up and the situation of law and order has improved, and crimes controlled. Recent achievement of the Centre in nabbing Chhota Rajan can also be called achievement of Maharashtra government. The past one year may be termed a good-year for Nagpur and Vidarbha.

The most deserving pair of BJP stalwarts– Nitin Gadkari and Fadnavis taking the region and the state to a newer horizon. Nagpur is getting equipped with IIM, AIIMS and Metro Railway, and the coming five years will change the face of Nagpur as well as Vidarbha.

Pradeep Maitra, Senior Journalist
The beginning of the government seem to be quite good, for its Jalyukta Shivar Yojana for farmers and the involvement of private voluntary organisations and participation of public in the said Yojana is most remarkable job the BJP government has done.

It will benefit the farmers, and also strengthen the revenue generation. The setting of IIM, AIIMS, Metro and IIIT will prove boons for the future of the city and region. It seems that the Chief Minister, being from Nagpur, is taking keen interest in the development of Nagpur and Vidarbha.

While the presence of Vidarbha in the Cabinet is always felt, the newly elected government is doing the works as per expectations of people. Now people are more interested in MIHAN, and the government must pay heed to its further development in order to ensure employment for young generation. The Jalyukta Shivar Yojana will benefit the farmers in long term though certain suicides by farmers are taking place now.

Satish Harde, Shiv Sena leader
Shiv Sena is standing with the government, and we are carrying the duty the people have entrusted to us. More works are to be done. Certain works should have been done with more speed which are not being done, for which were are in a state of dilemma–we are in the government, yet we are helpless.
