Jaipur: Nana patole, former BJP MP and now a Congress leader, has launched a stinging attack on the BJP by saying the party is misusing power blatantly. “Democracy is in peril,” Patole has said in Jaipur on Thursday. He is on a whirlwind tour of Rajasthan.

Patole had quit Lok Sabha and BJP just before the Gujarat Assembly elections held in December last. Even during his ‘uneasy’ stay in the BJP, Patole had fired salvos after salvos over Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for their working style. BJP does not listen to the commoners, was the charge of Nanabhau who later joined Congress.

“The BJP, after coming to power, is indulging in dictatorship. Democracy is in peril. Because of the dictatorial attitude of the party’s leadership, I had quit the party. The BJP’s policy has forced the International Working President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Pravin Togadiya to say that his life in danger. Hence he is going against the party. BJP was opposing FDI while in opposition and now the same party is allowing 100 percent FDI in retail. This way, the party is bringing East India Company in India again,” Patole charged.

Patole further said that corruption is increasing in Rajasthan, too. “The state is going to poll this year. Congress will emerge victorious this time and this win will give nation a new political direction,” Patole declared in his press conference.
