Long time BJP loyalist Munna Mahajan has decided to jump the poll fray from Nagpur Lok Sabha seat as an independent candidate. Mahajan has also filed nomination from this constituency and his move is seen as an indication of growing dissent within BJP. Mahajan’s decision to flex his political muscles independently in the poll battleground is believed to be the outcome of him being sidelined for quite some time.
Mahajan said his prime agenda would be to appeal against political corruption. During his political stint with BJP and Shiv Sena, Mahajan has played active role to strike coordination between both the parties. He served as city unit president of Bharatiya Janant Yuwa Morcha in 1985. He remained Shiv Sena city chief from 1992 to 1999, during which period his political activism flourished with full bloom.
Mahajan was also known to have taken up many campaigns to strengthen BJP on booth level. He is currently serving as the guest member in BJP.
