Beautification Drive at City’s Major Garbage Dump Points

Additional Commissioner Vasumana Pant issues directives under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will launch a beautification drive at 50 locations across the city where garbage accumulation is most frequent. The civic body aims to permanently close these dumping points by November 15. Once cleaned and sealed, these areas are expected to contribute significantly to the city’s overall beautification.

Under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, NMC has identified 50 garbage hotspots across the city’s 10 zones — five in each zone. Additional Commissioner Mrs. Vasumana Pant has directed the Solid Waste Management Department to ensure these sites are permanently closed. Sanitation inspectors have been instructed to identify the root causes behind repeated waste accumulation and to take necessary measures to prevent further dumping. They will also be responsible for beautifying these locations once cleaned.
