BDDS holds mock drill at Nagpur Railway Station ahead of 75th I-Day

Nagpur: The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) on Wednesday conducted a mock drill at Nagpur Railway Station ahead of 75th Independence Day. BDDS extracted a ‘suspicious’ package from underneath a four-wheeler at a parking lot on Wednesday afternoon and diffused it within nine minutes.

Lohmarg Police Headquarters in Ajni area received a phone call at around 12 pm informing about a suspicious bag at the parking of the Nagpur Railway Station.

Acting swiftly on the inputs, BDDS PSI Kavikant Chaudhary, Rishikesh Rakhunde, Manoj Borade, Bhavesh Rane, Naresh Chorpagar, Rahul Gavai, Leena Ashtankar, SUnita Ravrale and Rahul Selote rushed to the spot. Along with them, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad also reached the spot.

During the mock drill, Superintendent of Lohmarg Police Station M Rajkumar, Inspector of Nagpur Station Manisha Kashid, Senior Divisonal Security Commissioner of RPF Ashutosh Pande, Inspector RL Meena and others were present.

The squad sealed off the premises of the Railway Station, while Marshall and Warrior (Dogs) found the bag and directed that explosives were in it. The incident caused panic among motorists and passengers.
