Bahubali: The Beginning was a mega blockbuster of sorts when it released last year. So it wasn’t surprising that the likes of Yash Raj Films and Karan Johar were in the race to be associated with the film’s sequel, Baahubali: The Conclusion. Now, after much debate and speculation, KJo has announced on Twitter that he is collaborating with AA Films to produce Baahubali 2. The filmmaker also announced that the epic will hit the theatres on April 28 next year.

Karan Johar tweeted – Dharma Productions and AA films are honored and proud to associate once again with the genius @ssrajamouli ‘s vision

He also announced the release date in anotehr tweet – .@BaahubaliMovie The Conclusion releases on the 28th of April 2017 @arkamediaworks @Shobu_ #Prasad @dharmamovies

The Hindi version of Bahubali: The Beginning, which was presented by KJo, became a huge success at the box-office. It was the first South Indian dubbed film to cross the 100-crore mark. After the massive success of Bahubali, KJo had made his interest clear in the sequel. Similarly, YRF too was keen and had reportedly offered Rs 150 crore for the rights of the Hindi version of Baahubali: The Conclusion.

The SS Rajamouli-directed film ended on a tricky note with the question – Why did Kattappa kill Bahubali? The sequel will continue from where the first instalment left off and will feature actors Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia and Prabhas.
