Nagpur/Gondia: In a curious incident, six cops were suspended for ‘doing nothing’ to prevent a scratch on the official car of District Superintendent of Police.

During the same time, an unidentified person dented a scratch on the official car of the SP. The scratch was spotted by SP Vinita Sahu when she was boarding her car. Furious over the scratch, Sahu ordered a prob. Preliminary enquiry and departmental probe found the six cops negligent in their duty. Immediately action was initiated against the six policemen under Section 3(A2)(1A)(1B) of Bombay Police (Punishments and Appeals) Rules, 1956, and orders were issued to suspend them.
The suspended six policemen have been attached to Arjuni Morgaon Police Station and directed to register their presenty daily in the morning and evening. Signing in register is mandatory or else salary and dearness allowance would not be paid.
During the suspension period, the six policemen have been barred from doing any private job or business. The suspended policemen have been directed to surrender their weapons, identity cards and other official material to Police Headquarters Gondia immediately.
