Kanhan firing accused escapes from hospital but recaptured in Nagpur

prision-escape-nagpurNagpur: The rattled and baffled Nagpur police continue to be red-faced as they remain clueless over whereabouts of the five dreaded criminals who escaped from Nagpur Central Jail on Tuesday by scaling 23-foot prison wall. Shockingly, the Railway Police were not tipped off about the escaped prisoners despite Ajni Railway Station being very close to the jail. Speculations are rife that the feared criminals, after their daring jail-break, might have boarded a train and headed toward any destination. Nevertheless, massive manhunt has been mounted by Nagpur police.

It is disgusting to recall that the prisoners identified as Bisen Singh Ramulal Uikey (35, Seoni MP), Satyendra Rajbahadur Gupta (24, Kamptee, Nagpur), Mohammed Shoaib Shibbu (24, Mankapur Nagpur),  Prem alias Nepali Shalikram Khatri (21,  Nepal) and Akash alias Golu Rajju Singh Thakur (22, Manlapur, Nagpur) escaped from Nagpur Central Jail in the wee hours of Tuesday by first cutting cell grills and then scaling the 23-foot wall. Of the five, Bisen Singh Ramulal Uikey, Satyendra Rajbahadur Gupta and Mohammed Shoaib Shibbu were booked under stringent MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act) for various grave offences registered against them. Two others, Prem alias Nepali Shalikram Khatri and Akash alias Golu Rajju Singh Thakur were facing charges of armed robberies and Arms Act respectively.

The Jail administration got into act 2-3 hours after the jail-break was noticed. Several teams of police were formed and dispatched at all possible places to trace and recapture the escaped prisoners. Footages of CCTV cameras installed at Railway Station, Bus Stand and other exit points were scanned to get any clue. But at the moment the police are groping in dark and hard pressed to achieve any breakthrough.

It is pertinent to recall that the high profile gangsters Arun Gawli, Yakub Memon, Pune German Bakery blast accused Himayat Beig and others are jailed in Nagpur. Bisen Singh, Satyendra Gupta and Mohammed Shoaib are said to be members of dreaded gangster Raja Ghous of Tajbagh. Ghous, Bisen Singh and Satyendra Gupta were in Lakhnadaun Jail of Madhya Pradesh. They had escaped from the jail and later committed grave crimes such as murders, robberies, extortions in Nagpur.

All the five escaped prisoners were locked in Barak No. 6 of the Central Jail. Despite several other prisoners in the barak, the five dreaded goons succeeded in cutting the grills and fled by scaling the high wall between 2 and 4 am of Tuesday. Earlier, the Jail Administration conducted their probe by themselves and questioned other prisoners for any clue. But later tipped off the Nagpur police. After being informed, Commissioner of Police K K Pathak, Joint CP Anupkumar Singh, and other top police officials reached the jail and supervised the investigation.
