As Indian Air force (IAF) is celebrating its 80th Anniversary this year.As part of the celebrations , HQ Maintenance Command , Iaf is organizing an Air Warrior Symphony Orchestra ( AWSO) Concert at Yashwant Stadium , Nagpur on 12 jaN 2013( Saturday) , from 18:00 hrs onwards.,
Since time immemorial, music has been soul string accomplishment to the armed men in uniform , echoing passion amongst the advancing soldiers. Military bands enliven the spirit , strengthen the mood and help in promoting pride and comraderie.AWSO was formed in IAF with handpicked fine musicians from all Air Force Bands during the year 2003. Today the orchestra has more than 70 musicians and an expertise on Brass, Woodwind, Reed, String and Electronic & Percussion instrument. The AWSO symbolizes teamwork, harmony, ethos and Dedication. The team is formed with an objective of interacting with people to heighten the awareness about Indian Air Force through sound of music. The AWSO has great memories and honour to perform at Rastrapati Bhavan and several concertsabroad at countries like France, Italy. Germany, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
The aim of the concert is to display the soft skills of IAF and motivate school children and youth of Nagpur to join Defence Forces.
The co=organiser of the event , Maitree Parivar Sanstha is an NGO and a charitable organisation dedicated to the social , Cultural and Educational causes.
