Nagpur News : An autorickshaw driver was killed while five passengers sustained serious injuries after a speeding car crashed into the autorickshaw. Nandanan police registered a case and started their investigations.
According to police, Sheikh Javed Sheikh Yusuf, aged 30, collided with a speeding car heading towards at an intersection at Ishwar Nagar Square, near Jattewar Mangal Karyalay, in front of Om Plywood shop. Sheikh Javed, who was heading towards Mominpura for shopping with his family, fell on the ground with the impact while five others sitting in the back seat suffered severe injuries. Javed and the injured were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment where doctors declared Javed dead and admitted others.
Javed had gone to fill the autorickshaw tank at a petrol pump, near Jattewar Mangal Karyalay. After filling the tank, Javed took wrong side and the accident occurred as the recklessly driven unidentified car came running towards Javed’s autorickshaw and collided into it. However, the car driver soon recovered and fled the scene. The accident took place between 8.30 pm and 10 pm on Friday, police said.
Nandanvan police reached the scene and performed panchanama of the spot. Cops have registered an offence under Sections 279, 337, 338, and 304 (a) of the IPC read with sub sections 134 and 177 of Motor Vehicle Act. A massive has been launched for the accused car driver.
