Atal Tinkering Lab at Somalwar High School, Ramdaspeth, Nagpur
Nagpur: Atal Tinkering Laboratories (ATL) a venture of Atal Innovation Mission by Niti Aayog, New Delhi was launched at Somalwar High School & Jr. College, Ramdaspeth, Nagpur on Monday, 13th November 2017.

The event began with Interschool Paper Presentation Competition with the theme: “Smart Science for Smart Nagpur“ with 6 different subthemes. 20 schools participated in the competition. Three best presentations were awarded with a trophy and certificate at the hands of the Chief Guest Dr. Satish Wate, Retired Director, NEERI, Nagpur in a formal function the same day at 3:30.p.m.

First prize :- Somalwar High School, Nikalas Br., Nagpur presented paper on edible spoon. (Waste management), Second prize was bagged by Team Modern School, Koradi Road, Nagpur. They presented a paper on ‘Clean Energy Technology’.

Third prize was awarded to Bhavan’s Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Civil lines, Nagpur who presented a paper on ‘Waste Management’. The competition was judged by eminent scientists of city. Dr. Tapan Chakraborty, Dr. Sunil Ganatra and Dr. Sachin Mandavgane.

The Chief Guest Dr. Satish Wate inaugurated the ATL Labs and also went through all the Science models displayed in the Science exhibition that was an attraction of the Tinkering Marathon. The programme in the evening began with the ‘Saraswati Stawan’ followed by ‘Vidnyan Geet’.

The Principal Vaishali P. Dakhole gave the introductory address giving the objectives and impact of ATL. Dr. Satish Wate in his inaugural address praised the institute for maintaining the standard of Education for years. He attracted the attention of students by advising them on Team work. The Executive members of Somalwar Academy Education Society, Nagpur were prominently present on the occasion.
