Arun Gawli’s parole extended till May 26

Nagpur: The parole of notorious don from Mumbai Arun Gawli alias Daddy has been extended upto May 26, 2015. The vacation judge of Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court justice M L Tahlianai gave interim order in this regard on Friday.

Gawli”s son had got married in Mumbai on May 9. The court had given 15 day conditional parole for Gawli on April 30 last. His parole ended on May 21. He had filed an application before divisional commssioner seeking extension of parole by 30 days citing knee surgery of her mother. His mother is 86-year- old. The divisional commssioner did not take immediete decision on his application due to which Gawli filed a criminal writ petition in the high court.

The court heard plea on May 19 and issued notice to divisional commssioner and fixed May 22 as next date for hearing. Meanwhile, divisional commssioner turned down Gawli”s application.

After this fact was brought to the notice of court on Friday, the court scheduled hearing upto May 26 to go through other aspects. Similarly, Gawali”s parole was also extended upto May 26.

Gawli has sought extension of parole by 30 days in his plea. The final decision on Gawli”s parole extension is likely to be taken on May 26. Gawli was sentenced to life imprisionment for murder of Shiv Sena corporator Kamlakar Jamsandekar. He was arrested on May 28, 2008. Senior consul Adv Anil Mardikar and Adv Mir Nagman Ali appeared for Gawali.
