After a day’s delay, the title track of Kalank was unveiled today and while the makers apologised for releasing it a bit late, we say it was worth all the wait.
The song features the film’s lead pair, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan and the duo spells magic with their intense chemistry. Alia is looking ethereal in her ethnic clothes, while Varun is smouldering with kohl-rimmed eyes.
While the song is a visual delight courtesy the good looking actors and grand sets, it’s Arijit Singh’s hauntingly beautiful voice which is the USP of this love song. The crooner brings forth several emotions with his melodious voice and tugs at your heartstrings with the soulful romantic track. Amitabh Bhattacharya has penned the beautiful lyrics and Pritam has composed the music.
Talking about the song, Pritam said, “I would give a lot of credit to Amitabh for writing a song with a word like Kalank; it’s not easy. Arijit has made the track soulful and beautiful. Director Abhishek Varman’s brief was that it has to be a beautiful romantic number, which underlines the feeling one has when he or she starts loving someone intensely. It’s spiritual. After the teaser was out, lot of people had asked me if the title track is dark. I can now tell them that it’s not dark. It’s beautiful and exceptionally romantic.”
Kalank also stars Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonakshi Sinha and Madhuri Dixit in the lead roles and the video also shows a few glimpses of the aforementioned actors, towards the end.
Directed by Abhishek Varman, Kalank has been produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Sajid Nadiadwala, Hiroo Johar and Fox Star Studios and is slated to release on April 17.
