Another Triumph: Nagpur’s Ojas bags shoot off gold in Las Vegas archery event

Nagpur: The world champion archer Ojas Deotale from Nagpur, who shot to fame with a hat-trick of gold medals in the Hangzhou Asian Games in China, added yet another glory to his budding career. Ojas exhibited his skills with the bow and arrows in the Entertainment Capital of the World Las Vegas, United States.

In his first attempt at the Indoor World Series Archery Championship currently in progress at Las Vegas, the 21-year-old Nagpurian clinched the shoot off competition gold medal on Sunday.

In the 58th edition of Vegas Shoot, the Asian Games triple gold medallist finished on top of the table ahead of a record-breaking 105 participating archers from across the globe to make it a memorable moment for Indian archery.

Ojas’s title winning effort handed him $10,000 in the day long competition where every archer was given just one arrow in each round.

On opening day of the three-day World Famous Archery Tournament ‘Vegas Shoot 2024’, in progress at South Point Hotel and Casino, in Las Vegas, Ojas ruled the roost grabbing the first prize of US dollar 10,000.

There are two more days of action remaining and Ojas stands a chance of winning more glory. Apart from clinching gold in men’s individual compound event at 2023 World Archery Championships in Berlin, Ojas won three golds in the men’s individual, men’s and mixed team compound archery events.
